Learn About Mandala – Video and Script

Learning how to write a video script

During the semester, I had the chance to explore the video's world.

For this project I decided to use my own arts and crafts' brand and make an explanatory video for those who don't know the origin of Mandala Ojos de Dios.

My main objective was to bring awareness of this art to people and to create desire to make their own mandala.

Before creating the video, I thought about my audience, my goal and a good call to action.

A well-written script is the one that you deliver in all areas: intended goal, engaging, hook, singles and clear message, and a satisfying ending.

VIDEO SCRIPT – MANDALA BY PAMELA CANDIDO

[B-roll: nature, mandala hanging on the tree] Narration: I was hiking on the beach, and I found a fisherman’s house. I noticed that there was a very colorful thing hanging on a tree and spinning with the wind. I have never seen anything like that before. I was very curious. I went back home and I started to search what it was…

[Interview style – Pamela] In 2017, I made my first mandala and discovered a new passion.

[B-Rolls – eyes, geometry, nature patterns, symmetry] Narration: Mandala Ojos de Dios, or God’s Eye, is a form of art full of symbolisms and sacred symmetry

[B-Rolls – showing parts of the mandala] The center represents the sun and the understanding of things we cannot always see.

The four ends of the sticks represent the four elements- fire, water, earth, and wind.

[B-roll – Pamela showing some Mandalas] Mandala is a therapeutic form of art. Has its origin in Mexico.

[B-roll – different mandala styles] The use of symmetry and colors is what makes this art so beautiful and unique.

[B-roll – Interview Style with Pamela and showing Friends making mandalas] Everyone can learn how to make mandalas. Every age, gender, and artistic levels.

[Interview Pamela] Each part of the process has symbolisms, and it can be very easy to make if you follow the geometry and symmetry. It is always the same movement, but you change the patterns.

[B-roll – Pamela showing mandalas and choosing the material] I love making mandalas because it is a way to express my art, to give as a gift to people that I like, to motivate and inspire others and keep myself creative.

[B-roll – someone happy receiving mandala] I love watching people’s reactions when receiving my Mandala. I often receive messages from people that I am not even close with, showing me what they have created.

I love how it is such a beautiful and fun art, that seems to be very complicate, but you can make magic with cheap material It is a great way to receive an extra income and bring more color to people’s house.

[B-roll – Places that Pamela has taken with the mandala] I started making mandalas because I wanted to travel the world. I would give it as a small gift for those who I meet or that has helped me some way. I use the mandala as a way to mark the places I have been to with my art, and to give as a gift for people that I have had any sort of connection.

[Interview Pamela] I hope you have the desire to learn this art and experience the same feelings I have. I invite you to try making your own mandala Let the creativity guide you. Leave your mark around the world.
